Education at Perry Hall Middle School should enhance the quality of school life for early adolescents, facilitate their successful transition from elementary to middle and middle to high school, support students' social and emotional growth, and lay the foundation for lifelong learning as productive citizens of a global community.
Goals Vision Statement
SCHOOL GOALS 2001-2002
Perry Hall Middle School has established the following goals and priorities for the 2001-2002 school year.
- Goal 1: By the year 2003-2004 and beyond, student achievement in reading will reflect the following results: 70% of eighth grade students will achieve a satisfactory status and 25% of eighth grade students will achieve an excellent status in reading on the MSPAP.
- Goal 2: By the year 2003-2004 and beyond, at least 70% of our eighth grade students will maintain a satisfactory status in writing and language usage on MSPAP as well as 25% of our eighth grade students will maintain an excellent status in writing and language usage on MSPAP.
- Goal 3: By the year 2003-2004 and beyond, student achievement in mathematics will reflect the following results: at least 70% of eighth grade students will achieve a satisfactory status and at least 25% of eighth grade students will achieve an excellent status in mathematics on the MSPAP; 100% of eighth grade students will pass the MFMT; 96.4% of sixth grade students will score at or above grade level on the CTBS-5.
- Goal 4: By the year 2003-2004 and beyond, 70% of our eighth grade African American students will maintain and/or achieve satisfactory status in language usage on MSPAP as well as 25% of our eighth grade African American students will maintain and/or achieve an excellent status in language usage on MSPAP.

VISION STATEMENT
Perry Hall Middle School will be recognized as a school that consistently produces students achieving high levels of academic performance. All students will demonstrate the ability to integrate and apply knowledge. Staff members will aspire to excellence and encourage these aspirations in students. Learning, working, and growing together as we prepare students for the twenty-first century, we will be characterized by vitality, enthusiasm, and excellence.
- Using the curriculum provided by our district as a vehicle, we will equip our students with as process approach to new knowledge, encouraging critical thinking skills.
- We will provide students with opportunities to use current and emerging technologies.
- We will provide a nurturing but exciting atmosphere where students can develop a positive attitude toward learning, not just in our school but in their futures.
- As they learn about self and society, we will provide opportunities for students to develop self-respect, self-discipline, and appropriate life skills.
- We will build self-esteem and encourage student achievement through recognition programs.
- We will recognize and meet the challenges of varied learning styles and abilities in our student body.
- We will promote the development of social skills and teamwork through classroom activities, team-building activities, extracurricular activities, cocurricular activities, and clubs.
- We will build a sense of values and pride through peer mediation, peer counseling, guidance counseling, and support services.
- We will encourage our parents and community to take an active and positive role in the life of our school.
- We will create a workplace environment designed to attract and retain superior and diverse staff, selected for their ability to motivate, educate, and serve.
